Publix said in a news release last week that it has executed a lease for a 45,000-square-foot store at the Village Shops at Grande Dunes, a proposed shopping center located at an undeveloped parcel between 79th and 82nd avenues north and U.S. 17 Bypass.
The store plans to open sometime in 2016.
According to Myrtle Beach planning documents, the Publix will also include a drive-thru pharmacy similar to the Carolina Forest store.
The Village Shops site plan, which was presented to the Myrtle Beach Community Appearance Board on May 7, shows three additional buildings suitable for a mix of restaurants and retail, public records show.
